User interaction actions

This feature is available in Lite, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions only.
AI user interaction actions let the assistant ask you a question instead of guessing. When your request can be read in more than one way, AI shows the options right in the chat and waits for your answer.
To use the actions:
- Open AI chat on the connection you want to work with

Write a prompt that leaves room for more than one answer, such as a table name that matches several tables

To use an action, open the Tools & MCP settings, select DBeaver Internal in the tools list, and make sure the User interaction category is checked.

AI Chat shows a card with the question and the options to pick from.
Available actions¶
| Action | What it does | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Ask user to choose an option | Asks you to clarify a request by choosing from a list | "show me the last 10 orders" |
Answer the question¶
| Card type | How to answer |
|---|---|
| Single choice | Click an option, and AI continues with your answer |
| Multiple choice | Click every option you need, then click Submit |
| Custom answer | Type your own answer in the input field, then click Submit custom answer |
To skip the question, click Cancel. AI won't repeat it - it either waits for your next message or continues without that detail.
